Our Rap/Song: Educate Us All

The theme of this year's Our World Irish Aid Awards is 'Education for the All the World's Children'.  Guided by the project team, the three 6th Classes in Balbriggan ETNS have composed a song and rap in solidarity with the children of the world who don't get a full primary education.  It is written by children for children.  Please read the lyrics below and enjoy watching the rap or the full song! Why not sing along or learn it with your class?!

Our Rap

The Full Song

Educate Us All
(Sung to the music of We Are the World)

Children are here, to make a better world
So we all must come together to learn.
There are children crying, ‘cause we can’t pursue our dreams - at all
Now you must hear our call.

We cannot live, without learning day by day
That together, somehow we can make a change.
We are all a part of the world’s great family
And the truth, you know school is all we need.

CHORUS:
We are the world, we are the children,
We have the right to follow all our dreams so let’s start learning.
We can build our future just educate us now,
Then we can make a better world for you and me.

Yeah let us all learn, so we know we have the right
To have fun, be heard and never to fight.
So hear us all out, so we can succeed in life
Right now so we can build our self-esteem.

CHORUS
Nous se monde le, we are the children,
We have the right to follow all our dreams so let’s start learning.
We can build our future just educate us now,
Then we can make a better world for you and me.

Just remember this we can be someone in life
If we go to school and learn to not be cruel
Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh! Realise that a change can only come
When we learn together as one!

CHORUS X4

RAP:
We all need somebody that we can learn from,
When we wake up let’s take a book and we can read some.
Education will help us make it through the storm,
When the floor breaks, a magic carpet to stand on.
We are the World united by love so strong
We’ve wanted education for all for so long
A guiding light on the dark road we’re walking on
A sign post to find the dreams we thought were gone.
Something to help us move the obstacles we stumble on
Someone to teach us the things that we don’t know
We are the World connected by a common bond
Listen! Educate us, educate us, educate us all!

CHORUS

RAP Part II

Everyday children get no education
You and I, you and I get educated and give ourselves a better life
Let’s go to school so we can learn how to multiply
Become free so we can fly like a butterfly.
Education, education
We need it, we need it, we need it!

CHORUS

Irish Aid, Irish Aid, Irish Aid

  3. This is beyond GOOD, it's absolutely fantastic. Every child in 6th class should be so proud of what has been achieved and learnt during this project. A really special congratulations must go to the team who came up with the ideas and made them come to life on this Blog; your efforts will put a smile on the face of everybody who visits our school website. Amazing standard of work from children in primary school. Well done, well done, well done :-)

Did I say well done already?..............
